Attention All Artist: The DREAM @ 50 is a tribute series in 2012/13 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech including a student art contest (K-12)…
Students were asked to draw a picture illustrating a word or phrase from Martin Luther King Jr's The Dream Speech.
- Remember the judges love color and creativity!!!
- Size: 12 x 18 paper (or up to 18 x 24 inch paper).
- Any medium accepted (including, but not limited to, crayon, acrylic, gouache, watercolor, oil pastel, tempera, print, colored pencil, chalk pastel, mixed media, collage, pen, ink, papier mache, marker).
- No artwork that includes a representation or reproduction of a registered trademark is accepted. All artwork must be original work, not copied from published works. NEW Update! And the Winner is HILLARIE C. (7th) and the two runner up submissions where created by Jessie S. and Bryson A.

***Each year, Lions clubs around the world proudly sponsor the Lions International Peace Poster Contest in local schools and youth groups. This art contest for kids encourages young people worldwide to express their visions of peace. The theme of the 2012-13 Peace Poster Contest is "Imagine Peace." Download Peace Poster requirements c 12 Students, ages 11, 12 or 13 on November 15, are eligible to participate. Participants use a variety of mediums, including charcoal, crayon, pencil and paint, to express the theme. The works created are unique and express the young artists' life experiences and culture. All images must be original (no copyrighted characters) and remember that the judges love color. * NEW for 2011 - 2012: THE DREAM: Visions of the Civil Rights Movement and America Today...
This fall/winter, Atlanta Public Schools and Karz Productions are presenting a special art contest for K-12 students throughout Atlanta on the Civil Rights Movement, “THE DREAM: Visions of the Civil Rights Movement and America Today.” The deadline for submissions is November 18, and the awards ceremony will be in February for Black History Month. The aim of the contest is to foster an appreciation for the relevance of history and to demonstrate the vital importance of the arts in education and in daily life. Both MARTA and CBS Outdoor are media sponsors for the event, and the winning artwork will be widely displayed on buses and billboards and in train stations, galleries, museums, and public buildings throughout Atlanta. In addition, the Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs is a Partnering Organization, and we are collaborating with them on the VIP awards ceremony and on multiple reception/discussions for the winning artists.
