CRCT Review Competition Results

The results are in! After three fun and exciting Fridays in the theater, the 7th grade math team has completed the competition. The results are based on the average scores for all three Fridays. The 7th grade math teachers decided to award each class period separately.

Here are the results (Drumroll please...)

3rd period: Robinson's Red team wins the blue ribbon(1st place) with an average score of 91; In 2nd place, receiving the red ribbon is Adams' Blue team with an average score of 87; pulling up in 3rd place (white ribbon) is Barnum's White team with anaverage score of 82.

4th period: 1st place- Adams' Blue team (88.5); 2nd place - Robinson's Red team (88.1); 3rd place - Barnum's White team (80.6).

5th period: 1st place - Robinson's Red team (86); 2nd place - Adams' Blue team (82); 3rd place - Barnum's White team (74)

6th period: 1st place - Adams' Blue team (94); 2nd place - Barnum's White team (89); 3rd place - Robinson's Red team (82).

Congratulations to All the students for their participation! We are all winners and together our passion, our confidence, and our Panther Pride will help us to pass the CRCT!

CRCT Review Competition

After the first two weeks of stiff competition, all three teams (Red, White, and Blue) are working hard to be number one. So far, the Red and Blue teams are closely tied for first place with the White team coming up a strong second. The students are working together as a unit on each of their teams and it shows with the high percentage of correct answers. In the end, who will win the first place ribbons? Stay tuned for the final results!

Moving Towards the CRCT

As we enter the month of March and closer to the big day, please continue to review past material with your student at home.

The Mathematics portion of the CRCT will be given on Friday, April 25th.  In preparation, we will be engaging in a grade level competition amongst all three seventh grade math classes. Be sure to check back to see the results...

What's Happening in Mathematics

We are getting ready to finish up our Geometry unit. The students have been working very hard. Ask your child about constructions and transformations.

With the CRCT steadily approaching, we are continuously reviewing past and present concepts. Some of our past concepts are: solving algebraic equations (one- and two-step), simplifying algebraic expressions, Distributive property, collecting and displaying data, measures of central tendancy (mean, median, mode, and range), creating and reading Box-and-Whiskers plots, scatter plots, and graphing linear equations on a coordinate plane.

As you can see, we have been very busy this school year and it is very important that our Focus-Minded Students (FMS) come to school everyday, ready to review and learn.
